SWANA is happy to announce that it has now entered a National Alliance with OSHA and NWRA to collaborate on safety training and education. The two-year agreement was signed at OSHA headquarters last Friday. The SWANA press release announcing the signing event is below.
As many of you know, this effort has been a long time coming and we look forward to collaborating with OSHA and NWRA going forward. The goals of the Alliance are contained in the agreement and work plan that can be viewed on the OSHA website here. Please review them as they will be an important topic discussed during our next Safety Ambassador meeting on Monday, October 21 at 2 PM MST at WASTECON®.
As a result of this Alliance, we will have Zachary Barnett, Phoenix area director for OSHA, speaking on Tuesday, October 22, as part of the Safety Summit. I’d also like to highlight that Jessie Atencio, Director of the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety & Health (ADOSH), will be speaking on Wednesday, October 23, as a result of a State Alliance that the SWANA Arizona Chapter has entered with ADOSH. You can view all the WASTECON events, including the Safety Summit, here.
